40 Weeks Pregnant
Congratulations, you made it to your due date! At 40 weeks pregnant, your baby is the size of a pumpkin. They’re developed and basically ready for birth. They could be born any day now!
At this week’s prenatal visit, your provider will likely look again for signs of labor. They may talk to you about labor induction. They may also order a nonstress test (NST) to check on the baby’s well‑being.
You may have pictured giving birth today, and feel surprised to be waiting. Or maybe you're happy to have this time to prepare some more. The due date is just an estimate, and every pregnancy is different. It could take a little more time. Try to relax if you can!
