42 Weeks Pregnant
At 42 weeks pregnant, your baby is still the size of a watermelon. They’re not getting much bigger, and they’re running out of space! At this point the waxy coating protecting their skin might have come off.
It’s common to feel uncomfortable at week 42. You’re probably feeling ready. If only your baby was ready too!
Around less than 1% of pregnancies last to week 42 or later. That doesn’t mean anything is wrong. But some health risks increase when you’re overdue. Your provider will want to check on your baby’s well‑being. Be sure to attend this week’s prenatal visit and any tests your provider orders.
It really is almost time to meet your baby. You’ve got this!
