Twill Care Community Guidelines

Welcome to Twill Care! Twill Care is an app and website dedicated to supporting people as they care for their mental and physical well-being. We offer high quality education, relevant features and tools, ways to connect with other members, and access to experts. We ask that you please adhere to the following rules and guidelines for your participation in the Twill Care community:

Be Kind & Considerate

We hope you’ll connect with others here on Twill Care: share your experiences, ask questions, give feedback, and support one another. We want this to be a positive place, so please make every effort to keep your comments respectful and supportive!

Any offensive, hateful, or inflammatory comments or personal attacks will not be tolerated and may result in a ban from our community. This includes, but isn’t limited to, comments that express ableism, homophobia, racism, sexism, and/or transphobia.

Stay on Topic

Please keep all conversations relevant to the conditions and communities supported on our platform. Posts that are entirely unrelated to community topics may be removed at the discretion of our Community Moderator team.

No Medical Advice, Please

You are an expert on your own health experiences, which is why we think it’s so important to connect with others who really understand. However, this space is not a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment. Always be sure to consult with your doctor or healthcare team when making health decisions and do not rely solely on the information in this site or app. It is intended for informational and educational support only.

Feel free to share your own experience and ask our Experts questions about health and wellness. But please note that the Twill Care community is not a platform to give and receive personal medical advice. If we see such posts, they will be removed. Our Experts can offer general insights, observations, and information based on their experience and medical research.

No Medical Misinformation Either

Medical misinformation can be damaging to online communities, and if unchecked, poses a real threat to public health. We will remove any false or misleading statements and conspiracy theories, and we will remove the users involved. This includes information related to condition-specific medical diagnosis and treatment as well as general health information such as that on vaccines.

Refrain from Self-Promotion or Solicitation

Please do not make any posts here directing others to a personal business or company or to purchase a product or service. Also, do not make any “calls to action” for others to visit a website, blog, or social media page intended to promote contests, voting on blogs or sites for contests, advertisements, paid projects, or businesses. Please refrain from posting any links that are not directly relevant to the discussion at hand. If we see such posts, they may be removed.

Keep Language and Imagery Clean

We encourage our members to be authentic when describing their feelings about their condition or life phase, so we’re unlikely to censor language they’re using to describe their personal experiences, but the use of profanity outside of this—particularly to harass others—is not allowed. We may remove such content.

Please refrain from using slurs or any other offensive language. Also, be sensitive and considerate to the views and experiences of other users. When sharing photos, we do not allow nudity or sexually explicit images. We will remove any content that violates these guidelines from our site and app.

No Discussion of Illegal Activity

Posts should not promote, encourage, or discuss any illegal activity. We will remove any content that violates these guidelines from our site and app.

No Encouraging Harmful Activities

Any content that encourages or promotes self-harm or the harming of others is not permitted and will be removed from our site and app.

No Posting of Sensitive Personal Information

For your own privacy, please do not share any personal contact information, like email or mailing addresses, phone numbers, employment info or other identifying information, or links to your personal social media pages on the Twill Care feed. Please remember that our community is public and anyone who joins can see the posts you share. If we see such content, it may be removed.

Respect Each Other’s Privacy

Don't post content that invades others' privacy (personal or contact information) and please refrain from contacting other people on Twill Care outside of the community without their permission. If we see such content, it will be removed.

If You See Something Inappropriate…

If you come across a post or comment that makes you uncomfortable or you feel might be inappropriate, please send an email to support@care.twill.health including the name of the discussion topic and the user who posted the concerning content.
