Self-care doesn’t have to be all meditation and warm baths; it can be more exciting and fun. A meta-analysis reviewed the findings of 218 studies that explored the relationship between exercise and depression. The findings suggest that dance, along with other movement like walking, jogging, and yoga, decreases the experience of depressive thoughts, sadness, and low mood. You can join a Zumba class, throw a dance party with your friends, or even put on your favorite Beyoncé song during that dreaded 3 p.m. slump. The point is to get moving!
