What Is Stigma?

Stigma is a negative belief or attitude toward something that can result in shame. For instance, some people hold a stigma that seeking mental health support is a sign of weakness or failure. This false belief can keep people from the help and care they deserve, however. It’s important to question and break down stigmas.
