What Is Lanugo?

Lanugo is soft hair that’s all over a fetus’s body. It protects their skin, helps keep them warm, and also helps them grow. Lanugo tends to develop in midpregnancy and then falls off between weeks 32 and 38. But some babies still have it at birth.
