Amniotic fluid provides a cozy and safe environment for your baby as they grow in your uterus. It’s also the “water” when your water breaks.

It serves as a cushion protecting your growing fetus from any potential bumps and nudges that may come from the outside world. It also helps protect against infections.

Besides protecting your baby, amniotic fluid also has factors that are important for lung development.
