3 fast facts about exercise and diabetes:

1. At least 150 minutes per week of moderate or intense aerobic exercise is recommended for most adults with diabetes.

2. Adding resistance exercises (strength training) to your routine can improve blood sugar control.

3. Less sitting throughout the day is important. Move every 30 minutes for blood glucose benefits.

Talk to your doctor about the right amount and intensity of exercise for you and your abilities. If you’re not very active right now, it’s likely okay to start taking small steps to becoming more active. Any increase in movement can have benefits.
